Mike's First Day of Bear Hunting By: Hunter R.

This is Mike's first day of going bear hunting. He rode up the hill, and he said, "Do not make a sound." Then, he started to look around all over the place until he got up on top of the hill. You have to find a good way to get there. I know a good place to go. "This is my spot," he said. He was thrilled, and he was jumping around. He thought to himself, "Be quiet so the bear does not hear me." Then he said to himself, "Hook the tree stand up." First, he hooked the strap around the tree. Then, he got it in and sat there for a long time waiting. Then he said, "I will load by gun!" He looked around all over the place for an outstanding black bear. Mike knew the thing he had to do. He thought to himself, "Do not make a sound." He saw a black bear and got a clear shot on it. Then, he had to aim slowly when he went to shoot it. It was getting exciting when Mike shot it because the bear was huge, and he jumped up and down. Back at the camp, Mike cut the bear to get the meat so he could cook it. Then he cooked it and tasted it. He said it tasted really good. Then he put it in the freezer. That was an exciting day for Mike.

Dear Hunter,
I really enjoyed reading your story. I would be so scared if I saw a bear. Keep up the good work.

I enjoyed your story about bear hunting, Hunter. Have you ever been bear hunting, or have you ever had bear meat? It sounds like you know what you're talking about. (I agree with Grandma Welch. I'd be too scared to do that.:) )

Hunter,we liked the seeing the bear part. We couldn't wait until we found out if Mike got the bear. We are worried about him jumping in the tree stand. We thought it was funny that he had to remind himself several times to be quiet. We would have to be reminded too. Great story!
